Where is the experience held?

Our exclusive location is close to Basildon, in Essex, it is about 40 miles from Central London, there is more information about the hovercraft experience location here. On your experience you will be flying your hovercraft across the 6 acre lake and surrounding fields. Specific details of how to get to the location are sent out when you book your experience. You must book your experience first, we do not currently offer experiences without prior booking.

What's included in the price?

Your Hovercraft Experience Gift Voucher includes:

  • Free delivery of your personalised hovercraft voucher, valid for 9 months
  • Use of all the necessary safety and protective equipment
  • Depending on the Experience selected - it includes the required time on the hovercraft
  • Refreshments (non-alcoholic) and snacks are included throughout the experience
  • You will receive a Certificate as souvenir of the experience (except for Hovercraft Rides)
Some special gift packs may include other items - these vary and are stated on the gifts page.

How long does the Experience take?

Depending on the experience selected:

  • Hovercraft Ride, you should allow 30 minutes in total; you will spend 10-15 minutes on the hovercraft
  • Hovercraft Over Land, you should allow 60 minutes in total; you will spend 25-30 minutes on the hovercraft
  • Hovercraft Over Land and Water, you should allow 90 minutes in total; you will spend 40-45 minutes on the hovercraft
  • Hovercraft Solo, you should allow 2.5 hours in total; you will spend 60 minutes on the hovercraft

Do I actually fly the hovercraft myself?

You fly the hovercraft yourself on all experiences EXCEPT the Hovercraft Ride. The instructor is flying during the hovercraft ride.

How many people can go on the hovercraft at any one time?

Whilst the hovercraft we use are 3-seater hovpod's we only ever have two people on board at one time. The instructor and the participant. This is due to weight restrictions, and health and safety. In some situations - for example - a children's party that are having hovercraft rides, it may be possible to have two children on board while the instructor is driving, or one child and an adult as guardian.

What am I buying when I buy a Hovercraft Experience voucher?

You are buying a hovercraft experience voucher which you can either use yourself, or give it as a gift to a friend or relative. The voucher entitles you to one Hovercraft Experience as selected, which you can book at a later date, just call us on 0845 226 0748.

Can I post date the voucher?

Vouchers may be post dated as long as the start date is within one month of purchase. Please call when you place your order with the date you require.

Can anyone do it?

  • You must be at least 16 years old to drive the Hovercraft, therefore Under 16's can only complete the Hovercraft Rides.
  • Reasonable agility is required to get into the Hovercraft, if you have any concerns please call us 0845 226 0748 .
  • Your weight should not exceed 120kgs.
  • You must be at least 48" (122 cm tall) to ride the hovercraft, there is no maximum height restriction
  • You don't need any driving or boating experience.

What should I wear on the Experience?

You will be provided with all the necessary waterproof and safety clothing. There is no need to get your feet wet on your experience, because you will get into and out of the hovercraft on land. But to ensure that you are warm enough you should dress appropriately for the weather, with sensible non-slip shoes.

How long does it take to deliver?

If you place your order before 14:00 and it is paid for online, it will be processed and despatched the same day. All hovercraft experience vouchers are sent Royal Mail 1st Class post, FREE. Most vouchers are received the next day. A confirmation email is sent to your registered email address once it is despatched. Orders that are paid for by cheque or bank transfer are despatched on receipt of the cheque or bank transfer.

Can we just turn up?

All Hovercraft Experiences must be booked in advance. You are not able to turn up without a booking unless it is advertised as an "Open Day". You are welcome to bring along friends and family to watch, but you must have a fixed date and time booked for your experience.

Can I book my activity at any time?

Hovercraft vouchers are valid for 9 months, your voucher will have an expiry date printed on it. This means that you must book your experience within 9 months of receiving the voucher.

How do I book my experience?

When you decide you want to book your experience call us on 0845 226 0748. We operate all months of the year so just call and we can book you in. We will confirm the date and time of the experience by email or mail.

I have made a booking but I need to change it?

Contact us if you need to change a booking on 0845 226 0748. You may incur an additional re-booking fee if you do not give sufficient notice to change a booking.
